Shanna Leino, Stike Metals

About Strike Metals

Strike Metals makes jewelry and accessories from sterling silver and 18k yellow gold and is often combined with salvaged steel. Wire fencing, steel banding, washers and nails become pendants, rings and bracelets designed and made by New Hampshire-based artist Shanna Leino.

This is small-scale recycling, the repurposing of forgotten metal that once bound a barrel, kept critters in their fields, secured car parts, or held up the walls to a house. The steel has been pulled from roadsides, fields, junk heaps, abandoned houses, railroad beds, parking lots and intersections in places Shanna has lived or traveled: Tennessee, New Hampshire, Chicago, New York, Texas, Italy and Montenegro.

Searching for steel provides both the inspiration and raw material for the Strike Metals line.

As any antique lover or artist knows, you can't fake character. Strike Metals celebrates the beauty and development of character - evidenced by unique patinas, rusty corrosion, pitting and wear.

Strike Metals jewelry is made to be with you through adventures of both the wild kind and daily life.
Designed for men and woman, made for wearing and weathering.

Strike Metals - built to wear.
